April
2006
We started out the year with our annual Florida Keys tour. We were
joined by many friends, both from here, but many from there. This year’s
theme was “Picking up the pieces”. The Keys got hit pretty hard by
hurricanes last year, especially Wilma. But the fine folks of the Conch
Republic were ready to dance and party. You should really think about
joining us next year. We always travel
down to perform at Terry Cassidy’s Pickin' Party which is a fund raiser
for Habitat for Humanity. Their services were especially important this
year. It is always held on Super Bowl Sunday.
This is a very unusual event. That’s all I am going to say. We have
every reason to believe that we will continue the Keys tour in 2007. The
poster from this year’s party can still be found here:

Photos from the last three years can be found at:

Then, appropriately enough, we drove to the frozen north for Klondike
Days. Dogs, snowmobiles and fur hats. They still have winters in
Northern Wisconsin.
We are ready to play closer to home and look forward to the 2006 season.

October 2005
Hello to all of you, my
amigos.
We sure had a blast at
Fighting Bobfest. Hot, but very positive.

Chatting with Jim Hightower was as much fun as listening to him speak.
Piper Road Spring Band
walked off with the first presenting of the “George” award at the second
annual chili cook off in Fon du Lac. Our version of the “Beer Barrel
Polka” was voted outstanding in its field.
Maybe we can photograph
the award and put the image up on our web site.
It is with regret that
I inform you that PRSB was yet once again not contacted
regarding our star on the Hollywood walk of Fame. This means that we
will
not be traveling to LA to accept that honor once again this year. Also
we have
not heard from the US Olympic Committee as to if we will be the official
band of the Olympics, wherever they will be.

If you are
interested in receiving future mailings via email send your address to Big
Al: byla@piperroad.com and save
the band the postage. Kangaroo will continue to mail thru USPS unless you
specify in writing (via email is acceptable) that you no longer wish to
receive these timely notes.
REMEMBER to
include PIPER ROAD SPRING BAND in your special event this year. THANKS for
all of your past and future support- we will be looking for you when we
come "JUST PASSING THRU".
